Eight girls gathered yesterday to meet each other and the Herd. It is always a little exciting and uncomfortable meeting new people. The big Gray Mare, Elegy seemed to feel the tension and jumped the arena gate fence. She was willing to come back in when Big Jake lent his presence to the group. The rest of the herd followed, and they mingled with the girls in the arena. Some girls hadnt been around horses for a long time and felt the excitement in their bodies. Other girls see horses on a daily basis. The horses are looking forward to seeing them all again and sharing their wisdom as well as their warm breath.
