Eileen White Jackson Bullying happens at all levels and it is not just a special needs issue, the way I have seen it . I have an almost 21 year old special needs child, he has not been bullied because his father and I have made a life changing decision that altered our lives so he could be sheltered from it. Many people have called this decision to change our life a sacrifice,but we have never seen it , in that way. I have eight grandchildren, two with special needs. I know my grandchildren are against the bully, they have experienced it first hand and have said so . They have seen a friend or loved one allowed to be bullied and know it is wrong. I think they often stand up to the bully also, whoever they are and it comes with great merit and sacrifice on their part. It is all about stopping the bully, we owe it to all our kids special needs or not.
