Eileidhs bad nights seem to be a daily occurrance now. She never - TopicsExpress

Eileidhs bad nights seem to be a daily occurrance now. She never even managed 80ml of her feed before being sick last night. The tube again came out through her mouth. Having to pull it out is so distressing for her & makes me feel awful for having to do it but needs must. I called Schiehallion last night to see if she should go & get a new one put down then or whether to wait til this morning. Since they didnt want to upset her any more than she already was, they said just to take her over this morning. That is now 3 days in a row her tube has needed to be replaced :( We headed over once we were ready but the minute we reached the treatment room, Eileidh began getting extremely upset, holding onto the straps of her buggy so I couldnt get her out etc. She now knows what will happen when she goes into that room so it was a fight to get her in. The nurse thinks its possible that the tube was too far down into her stomach, which can cause vomiting. This tube isnt as far down so will have to wait & see if there is any change or if she is still going to be sick. As she is on Metoclopramide, Ondansatron & Cyclizine, she should have stopped vomiting by now so hopefully this will make all the difference. Instead of picking something out of the Fairy Box today, the nurse came through with a huge gift bag of colouring sets, chocolate santas, advent calendar, sweets, antler headband & a Thorntons chocolate Snowman & Snowdog :) Very happy Eileidh :) This afternoon we went to see Nico & Ged. They had put their christmas tree & decorations up specifically for Eileidh, which she loved - especially the chocolate decorations in the tree & the moving train ornament. Somehow, she managed to wedge her dummy into the ornament but I have no idea how though! A shopping trip is always a good way to make her smile & after the week shes had, how could we not? Eileidh has done rather well eating & drinking today which will hopefully help build her up a bit. As the doctor told me to give her sugary & fattening drinks, I bought her a bottle of orange lucozade. Not sure whether she will like it or not but if it helps then its worth a try, although possibly not for my nerves. She can be hyper enough without any help! At the moment she is sound asleep & looks so peaceful. Please, please, please, let her have a full nights sleep without any vomit....
