Mondays post started off with this question: What if you woke up - TopicsExpress

Mondays post started off with this question: What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday? Thankfulness is a common topic this time of the year. During this season, we often see people doing Thankfulness Countdowns & listing out their blessings. While this is a great way to count our blessings, sometimes, it can turn into habit. Sometimes the idea of being thankful becomes redundant & loses its meaning. If we woke up with only the material blessings we thanked the Lord for/expressed gratitude for, where would we be? Usually, we thank God for His protection, for blessing us with our family & friends, for providing us with great jobs & a beautiful house & yummy food to fill our bellies. But how often do we thank the Lord for His sacrificial work on the Cross? How often do we thank Him for enduring the most torturous death known to mankind for OUR sakes? How often do we thank Him for carrying OUR sins upon His body, for bearing OUR guilt & punishment so that we would not have to suffer, for allowing Himself to be publicly humiliated so that WE would not be looked upon with shame. All those other things that we list on our Thankfulness Countdowns are indeed important blessings to be reminded of. But at the end of the day, if we woke up with all those things but did not have the salvation of the Lord, our lives would be completely hopeless - and devastatingly so. Its not enough to thank the Lord on Sunday mornings at worship. We must engage in a daily, CEASELESS thankfulness for the work of the Cross. Encouraging yall to prayerfully read Mondays post, All Thanks to Him. May we never again take our Precious Savior, the reason for our Eternal Hope, for granted. - wp.me/p35O1B-OP Thanksgiving flows out when we intentionally remember all that He has done, focus on all that He is doing, and hope for all that He has promised He will do. It’s more than just the material things that we should be thankful for. It’s about seeing Jesus for who He is and understanding that the two simple words, “Thank You,” are the least we can say to show how deeply grateful we are for all that He has done.
