Either through fate or coincidence, world class players always - TopicsExpress

Either through fate or coincidence, world class players always blossom in batches. Recent history shows that succinctly. Figo , Raul and Zidane. Giggs, Scholes , Carragher, and Nedved, Del Piero et al. We have also seen the Kakas , Ronaldinhos ,Klose and others. The likes of Xavi,Casillas,Lampard,Gerrard,Terry,Drogba,Ibra and many others are now heading into the twilight years of their careers ,while some of them still have a say or two on outcomes of games they feature ..... The latest crop of players clamouring for the right to overcome the Ronaldos,Messis,Schweinsteigers,Riberys ,Rooneys, RVPs,Di Marias and a host of others are many, but the Poster boys of this next generation are arguably Neymar jr and Eden Hazard. Both players are renowned for their quick feet, trickery and ability to score extra ordinary goals. Neymars rise have been fast and steady. He has shown a remarkable level of consistency over the past two years, blossoming into arguably the best international player in football. His latest feat being grabbing a poker(four goals in a game) , making it five goals in his last two games for Brazil. His performances for Barcelonia has recently improved beyond meagre proportions, as he has presently outshone Messi in a partnership that has began to flourish this season. Can the same be said of the Premier League poster boy Eden Hazard? I do not think so. For many of us who may be termed Hazard apologists,we may cling to any excuse for his inconsistencies and inability to take it up to the next level, but we must eschew employing variables like age, quality of players surrounding him , game time etc. Freedom to express himself on the pitch may provide a sound source of arguement, but seeing him lack initiative in games against Sporting Lisbon and Villa also rubbishes this theory. The one million kobo question here is , has Hazard lost ground on Neymar as regards player development? No matter what we say or think, the truth is that we are running out of excuses to defend him.
