Ekiti APC stakeholders kick over alleged ACN’s dominance LEADERS of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Ekiti State have denounced the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) leaders in the state for alleged impersonation regarding the affairs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. The defunct parties have been at loggerheads following their dissolution into the APC amid allegations that the dominant ACN in the state had “been carrying on as if the other parties in the merger were non-existent.” The fresh trouble resulted from an advertorial, in which two persons signed as chairmen of the APC in Ado Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas of the state. The two APC leaders, Chief Adeyemi Ganiyu and David Adigun, who addressed themselves as APC chairmen in Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun councils areas, had in a statement entitled “Open Letter to Hon Opeyemi Bamidele,” catalogued 27 offences against the House of Representatives member and demanded that he respond within seven days or face sanctions. A statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday, signed by the chairman of the defunct ANPP, Alhaji Azeez Awolokun and chairman of the defunct CPC, Mr Babatunde Ajayi, said “the APC is yet to set up a structure and elect officers in Ekiti State, as our primary assignment all this time is to register new members.
