Elana Lovallos Letter, In high school, I was always known as that girl who was enthusiastic and highly motivated to work hard for anything I wanted to accomplish. These things vary from good grades, saving up for something, exercising, improving as a cheerleader, and many more things. As I grew up, I was inspired by my dad, watching him put in the effort to achieve anything he wanted. Since then, I have always felt a fire inside me that was sparked whenever I decided there was something I wanted to accomplish. I am a strong believer that anything worth having will not necessarily come easy. Towards the end of the summer going into junior year, I promised myself I would earn straight A’s. Ignoring any distractions and regardless of how hard my classes were going to be. I was not going to let myself justify any obstacles preventing me from obtaining my goal. While staying up until 2 am most nights and spending my Saturdays studying, I managed to fulfill my promise to myself. People have questioned me as to why I put so much effort into goals that may seem insignificant to them. This is because of how I was raised as well the outcomes I have experienced by doing so. Dr. T.P. Chia once said “Hard work does not necessarily guarantee success, but no success is possible without hard work.”
