Election Day approaching- There are less than 60 days until the general elections. This year, voters will decide a large number of important offices to include: 35 U.S. Senate seats, 435 U.S. House of Representative seats and 39 state and U.S. territory governorships. Not a resident of Colorado? No problem. There is still time left to register to vote absentee and request a ballot. Voting absentee is easy using the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP)s online assistants which can be found at fvap.gov/. Select your respective state/territory and follow the directions. Please pay close attention to your respective state’s deadlines. Most States accept at least one form of electronic submission, i.e. faxing or emailing. If you register and request your absentee ballot and do not receive it 30 days before the election use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot to vote. The form is also available at fvap.gov/oklahoma under Get My Ballot. For help in person, each military unit on post has a unit voting assistance officer or visit the Fort Carson Installation Voter Assistance Office at 1625 Ellis St., building 1218, room 105, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or call 526-1140 or email [email protected]
