Electric City Kennel Club Electric City Kennel Club Minutes from June 12, 2013. Meeting called to order by club President at 7:30 pm at the Amigo Lounge, Great Falls MT. May’s Meeting Minutes accepted. MEMBERS PRESENT: Susan Ayres, Carly Byung-Ho, Connor, Christy Davidson, Debbie Heim, Catherine Estes, Donna Hartelius, Kay Hoyt, Belinda Sadler, Kyrie Smith, Brian Wood. 2 Guests: Tiffany Long and Kyrie Smith’s Husband. PRESIDENT’S REPORT: No report. SECRETARY’S REPORT: No Report TREASURER’S REPORT: Bank Statements given to Secretary. Transferred money into Jr Handler account to bring it back up to original amount; $200, No quarterly report yet Checking account balance for April was $17,289.64. Checking account balance for May was $19,515.37; parking and grooming deposits for show, paid $600 for insurance REPORT OF COMMITTEES: Show Committee, Susan Ayres: Had a committee meeting prior to regular meeting Entries are down again; Friday down 105 and Saturday down 83 We may be short on ring stewards, if you are interested in helping or know someone that wants to help call Lynn Knobel 406 271-3610 or email lynknobel@yahoo Need help setting up on Thursday afternoon, we take possession at 1:00; will also need help tearing down Saturday; doesn’t take long if we have enough help Trophy bills being sent out APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP: Tiffany Long; voted as new member; family membership OLD BUSINESS: Fun match on hold until this Fall Seminar for Jr handlers; Micki is working on an off-site location, possibly Rita Munson at instructor (from Helena Club); no word on this as of this meeting Intermediate Jr Handling class in the works for this Fall; probably starting Oct Micki will look into setting up a reproduction seminar, sometime by next year. Dog Anatomy and Function is another seminar possibility Possibly a microchip clinic this year at F&L’s Pet fun day in Oct; Micki will look into it. Kay and Belinda will contact other show people in the “local” area to try and get more interest in our confirmation practice. Will pull names from catalog and from Kay’s last mailing list; on hold until later this year NEW BUSINESS: Kyrie priced the moving photo frame, found one at Sam’s that’s 10” for $69; members present voted for her to purchase frame for show Heart Clinic; Kay Hoyt reported 53 pre-scheduled, last year we had 80 at Helena show, this included walk-ins. Same Discount as last year, $35 until minimum number is reached, then it’s $30. Cavaliers of the West are going to help the Cavalier people, paying 20% of fee. We have the labels from OFA for their discount. Will pick up Dr Bright at airport. May need some additional help on Friday at the clinic, we should be okay on Saturday. Clinic hours: 9:00-6:00 pm Tax Status – Donna Hartelius reported lawyer has the tax status paperwork we found in our club files; he needs to do some research but unfortunately hasn’t had a lot of time to work this issue yet. She will contact him to find out where he is with this little project; was suggested we consider hiring a CPA to get this done if he can’t get to it soon, getting our status changed will save us $2,000 next year for fairgrounds lease Brian Wood will look into starting Confirmation practice again starting in July; numerous puppies that need training. Club discussed the possibility of a structured confirmation class running about 4 weeks to hopefully bring in new members; ½ hr class the ½ practice ADJOURNMENT: 8:12 pm Brags: Kay’s brace team went Best in Show at Spokane – Way to go! Her team consisted of a couple of her (and Siv’s) veteran gals – CH Nordictouch Polly Ester at Luckycharm "Polly" and CH Nordictouch Imagine "Isabella" Jan also did well at the Spokane and Coeur d’ Alene shows – CH Hillcrest Just Look at Me CGC “Max” went Select all 4 days and at the ID show, both days BoB Owner Handler and Group 3 Owner Handler
