FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 18, 2013 I-74 Repairs This Weekend; Lane Restrictions Begin At 9 PM Friday SHELBYVILLE, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Transportation will make scheduled repairs to Interstate 74 this weekend—beginning Friday night at 9 o’clock, weather permitting—between Indianapolis and Shelbyville. Motorists will encounter a right lane closure along eastbound I-74 from mile marker 105.0 to mile marker 109.0 (Fairland exit). Reith Riley—the contractor for a state repair contract calling for full-depth concrete patching, partial-depth asphalt patching, undersealing and crack sealing on I-74—plans to saw cut, remove and replace sections of failed concrete pavement. Full-depth concrete patches in the eastbound right lane will be up to 66 feet in length. Restrictions should be lifted by 5 p.m. Sunday, allowing time for new concrete to cure.
