Electrical Engineer - #317, Chattanooga, TN Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on power generation, power distribution, and relay protection. Multi-discipline projects in hydro and fossil power generating facility experience is desired. TVA or other power industry experience is also desired. Desired experience includes low voltage and medium voltage power distribution, motor controls for both low voltage and medium voltage, interfacing industrial processes to DCS and/or PLC systems and the use of power distribution system modeling software (ETAP or similar). RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: This position coordinates the electrical work with a multi-disciplined team throughout the entire projects development process and is accountable to ensuring assigned projects are completed “on time”, “on budget” and “perform to the clients expectations”. •Participates and/or leads design reviews meeting as required. •May direct the activities of other electrical engineering and design professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members. •Establishes client relations and must be able to effectively assume a lead role at project meetings and communicate project and technical information. •Responsible for back-checking own work to minimize rework. •Duties may also include administrative & various support activities related to an engineering office environment. •Travel to client facilities for the purpose of gathering field information and participating in design review meetings/other may be required. •Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Electrical Engineering design and project leadership abilities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSES: BSEE from ABET accredited engineering institution Required 5 years minimum. Preferred 9 years. Experience with Utility or Industrial plant E/I&C design documents and drawings, such as: single-lines, control schematics, connection drawings, conduit and cable tray routing drawings, conduit and cable schedules, etc. is required. Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite SW OTHER REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to understand and apply engineering design principles. •Possesses good verbal and written communication skills. •Possesses good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment. •Possess willingness to accept responsibility. •Ability to work on high performance teams. •Available to work overtime as necessary to meet schedules and commitments. •Must possess the ability to drive assigned projects to completion.
