The Opportunity Our four-year Electrician Apprenticeship offers excellent opportunities to learn from the best in the business and to become competent and professional in your chosen career. As an electrotechnology (electrician) apprentice youll learn how to install and maintain high-voltage electrical equipment in substations, as well as how to install the wiring and equipment pertaining to the transmission systems. Youll also do electrical works associated with domestic and commercial applications. Your responsibilities will include: Reading electrical, architectural and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements Plan the layout of wiring systems Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions Install electrical and electronic control systems and cabling Install electrical equipment such as water heaters, CTs, Transforrmers, Busbar, switchboards and motors Assemble and fabricate electrical and electronic components and appliances Connect electrical equipment to various power supplies Connect switches, outlets and other fittings Connect Circuit Breakers Maintain automated production processes Who you are To be considered for an Electrical apprenticeship you must have: Completed year 11 with good results achievements in English, maths and science or currently undertaking an electrical trade Pre-apprenticeship qualifications (highly regarded) The ability to work at heights An appreciation for mechanical aptitude A commitment to learning and development Ability to undertake the full range of physical demanding roles associated with field based tasks Enjoy working outdoors Ability to adapt to a changing environment Highly motivated to succeed and a desire to be challenged Good communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate in Microsoft Office. seek.au/job/26844461
