My views on campaign finance. Campaign finances should come from the governed. That is, for local races, the funding should come from the local district, county, city, or town. Funds should not be allowed from outside this region. Candidates for state office should only receive funds from the state they are running in. Funds from outside the state should not be permitted. Only for national office should the funds be permitted to come from anywhere in the nation. Under no circumstances are election donations to come from outside the United States. Contributions are currently capped, but there are numerous loopholes. The $50,000 a plate dinners have to stop. The raising and spending of $100 million to get a job that pays $250,000 is one of the reasons we have the government we have. Politicians should only accept campaign contributions from their constituents. For all those organizations out there plying me for money for senate races in other states, I choose not to contribute to your campaigns due to these beliefs. I know this may not seem fair to you, because everyone else is taking these out-of-area contributions; but that doesnt make it right. I choose to take a stand. How many are with me?
