Here we have one lucky speaker, and one attempted assassin who got his just reward. In Russia they dont mess around! Some good Active Self Protection lessons to be learned here as well. Lessons: 1. Why did the attempt fail? Because he forgot to disengage the safety. Whoopsie! Lesson for us: if your firearm has a manual safety make sure disengaging it is as natural and easy as breathing. It must be second nature. (or...my preference...carry a firearm without a manual safety) 2. The speaker stood there dumbstruck, but thankfully his security didnt. (their failure was moments earlier!) When someone wants to hurt you, dont hesitate! Instead, hurt them first. Lots. 3. The assassin used a very small pistol. Real assassins seldom use Desert Eagles to do their work...thats Hollywood. 4. Man, that guy got the snot kicked out of him. He deserved it, but the lesson is not to get in the middle of bad guys and their just desserts. The chaos that ensues from situations like these are good times to find a better place to be. Attitude. Skills. Plan.
