(btw 36th and 35th st.) 12th floor, NYC. NETworks is pleased to announce auditions for their 2014-2015 National Tour of ELF, The Musical. Executive producer, NETWORKS, Kary Walker; Director, Sam Scalamoni; Choreographer, Connor Gallagher; Tour Musical Supervisor, John Mezzio; Music, Matthew Sklar; Lyrics by Chad Beguelin; Book by Bob Martin and Tom Meehan; Bob Cline, casting. Auditions will all be held at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Ave. St., 12th floor, NYC. WE WILL BE PUTTING OUT TWO SEPARATE TOURS THIS YEAR. DATES FOR BOTH TOURS ARE... First Rehearsal 10/14, open 11/10, closes 1/4. This musical is based on the 2003 New Line Cinema film of the same name. We are seeking performers with strong legit Broadway voices; prepare a brief song selection, which shows off your voice and range. Good Comedic skills required. Singers should be prepared in case they are asked to come back for a movement call later in the day. For the dance call days Dancers should still bring a song selection, plus both jazz shoes or sneakers and character shoes. Bring sheet music. Pianist provided. You are welcome to sing from the show, but please have another appropriate selection with you. Bring picture & resume. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to attend this call. Almost all ensemble members must sing well enough to cover a principle role. All cast must at least move well. We will be singing first on 3/10 and 3/11, and dancing first on 3/12. SEEKING: [BUDDY] This role was made famous by Will Ferrell in the movie. Buddy is Caucasian, 30ish, male. Funny, and warm with an infectious personality. He has been raised as one of Santas Elves and has the innocence of a child. He has outrageous enthusiasm for everything he sees and does but it is very genuine. We are seeking a comedian with great subtle timing and an amazing singing voice. Must be charming and extremely likable. [JOVIE] This role was played by Zooey Deschanel in the movie. Female, to play Caucasian, 20s to 30s, warm, funny and comedic. A New Yorker that doesn’t have much Christmas spirit until meeting Buddy. Must have a great singing voice and be appealing and relatable and funny. [WALTER] This role was played by James Caan in the movie. Walter is Caucasian, 50s, male. He is a upscale successful business man who has become cold and distant with his family until Buddy enters their life. He is a workaholic with little time left for enjoying life or appreciating simple things. Should be a good singer. [EMILY] Female, to play Caucasian, age 40s, warm, amazing singing voice. A very New York, dry witted loving mother to Michael, and wife of Walter. Must have great comedic skills. [MICHAEL] Male, to play Caucasian, 10 yrs old, funny, smart, amazing singing voice. (SUPPORTING LEAD) POSSIBLY SEEKING ROLE AND STANDBY FOR ROLE. [DEB] Female, any ethnicity, 30s to 40s, funny secretary, full of character and sharp wit, amazing singing voice. [MR. GREENWAY] Male, any ethnicity, 50s, shrewd businessman, must have an amazing singing voice and great comic timing. The man in command. [SANTA] Male, to play Caucasian, 50s to 60s, jolly, warm, funny, good singing voice. Down to earth, a beer and pizza kind of Santa. [STORE MANAGER] Male, non-white, 30s to 40s, funny, physically large, full of character, lots of attitude, sassy and spirited. Must be able to sing well and have great comic timing. Funny is more important than size. [COMEDIC FEMALE ENSEMBLE DANCER/SINGERS] Female, all ethnicities, to play 20s to early 30s, funny, attractive, smart, seeking very strong dancers with big personalities who sing very well. Dancers should have a strong sense of style. Women should bring heels and flats. Tapping is not required. singers who move should attend the singer call. Must be able to deliver various comedic bit parts throughout the show. Will possibly cover principal roles. [COMEDIC MALE ENSEMBLE DANCER/SINGERS] Female, all ethnicities, to play 20s to late 40s, funny, smart, unique, seeking very strong dancers with big personalities who sing very well. Dancers should have a strong sense of style. Men should bring jazz shoes and sneakers. Tapping is not required. Singers who move should attend the singer call.
