Ellis Ebakor Wrote ::: And the inevitable happened... the good majority has spoken. 2015: POLITICAL STAKEHOLDERS, KINS MEN URGE DELTA DEPUTY SPEAKER TO RE-CONTEST ASSEMBLY SEAT, BUY NOMINATION FORM FOR HIM. Political stakeholders and Kins men of the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State Legislature, Rt. Hon (Barr) Basil Ganagana, comprising PDP Chieftains, opinion leaders, women, youths, students among others from Patani LGA yesterday purchased nomination form for him and urged him to re- contest the Assembly seat in the area. Declaring their position during a solidarity visit to the Lawmaker in Asaba yesterday, Chief Harrison Biu and Secretary Transition Committee of Patani LGA, Comrade Fred Avwoke who spoke on behalf of the group, stated that their decision was predicated on his effective representation, performance and experience as a legislator as well as the present political configuration in the state. The Vice Chairman of the Transition Committee in the Area, Mr. Ebimobowei Ekpobetebe and High Chief Yankee Lawrence who corroborated the decision of the group, stated that they are not just urging the lawmaker to return to the House in the next election, but announced that himself and others have already purchased the expression of interest and nomination form for him to make good their plans. He declared that they have already perfected strategies to mobilize grassroot support to ensure his re-election come 2015. Hon. Ganagana who expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and show of solidarity stated that though he had earlier indicated interest to contest Bomadi/Patani Federal constituency seat, after due consultation with relevant stakeholders concerning 2015, he decided not to heat up the polity. He commended them for their bold initiative while assuring them of his willingness to continue rendering selfless service to his people. I must confess that this is the first time in the political history of Patani LGA, that people from the area will be buying nomination form for me and urging me to re-contest the Assembly seat. I have been receiving several calls from several quarters asking me to re-contest, but today, you people went a step further and demonstrated a rare courage by not just asking me to re-contest but buying the nomination form for me. Let me assure you that I will not let you down. He declared. Hon. Ganagana advised the people to shun whatever has the capacity to undermine the peace and security of the state as we approach the general elections
