Ellis Grove Car Show Results The Ellis Grove Volunteer Fire Department’s 14th Annual Car Show was held on Sunday, July 21, 2013. The show featured 108 cars – down about 80 cars from last year due to the weather. Chairman Tom Moll would like to thank all the sponsors for the past 14 years of support. They have been outstanding. The Fire Department would like to thank all the volunteers who helped with the food and everyone who supported the Fire Department by purchasing food at this year’s event. Winners were: Class A – Original & Restored 1900-1954 (cars only) - 1st place went to Danny Wall with a 1938 Chevy 2 door; 2nd place went to Mike Sullivan with a 1930 Ford Model A; and 3rd place went to Scott Carnahan with a 1948 Chrysler Convertible. Class B – Original & Restored 1955-1963 (cars only) – 1st place went to Doug Jordon with a 1961 Chevy Impala Convertible. Class C – Original & Restored 1964-1972 (cars only) – 1st place went to Clay Erickson with a 1965 Chevy Nova SIS; 2nd place (four way tie) went to Chad Ebers with a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, Sam Stimpson with a 1967 Chevy SIS, Richard Schrieder with a 1967 Chevy Chevelle, and Gary Finney with a 1965 Chevy Malibu; and 3rd place (four way tie) went to Mike Sullivan with a 1968 Chevy Camaro, Kenny Welge with a 1966 Cadillac DeVille, Del Hentis with a 1967 Chevy Chevelle, Leiand Brock with a 1966 Cadillac DeVille, and Paul Lewers with a 1967 Pontiac GTO. Class D – Original & Restored 1973-1983 (cars only) – 1st place went to Yogi with a 1973 Dodge Charger; 2nd place went to Robert Walsh with a 1980 Cadillac Eldorado Martz; and 3rd place went to Kevin Herring with a 1973 VW Super Beetle Convertible. Class E – Original & Restored 1984 & Newer (cars only) – 1st place went to Steve & Sheila Klucker with a 2005 Ford T-Bird; 2nd place (three way tie) went to Kent Kattenbraker with a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, Richard Florreich with a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34, and Meckenzie Dilley with a 2009 Dodge Challenger; and 3rd place went to Julia Cathell with a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado. Class F – Street Rods 1900-1936 – 1st place went to Robin Adair with a 1936 Ford 2-Door; and 2nd place went to Jeremy Smith and Tara Gobin with a 1923 Ford T-Bucket. Class G – Street Rods 1937-1948 – 1st place went to Al Mitchell with a 1937 Ford 2-Door; 2nd place went to Marvin & Jenny Holzbach with a 1940 Chevy Coupe; and 3rd place went to Bruce Schuetz with a 1948 Chevy 2-Door. Class H – Street Rods – Fiberglass Only – 1st place went to George Arnold with a 1931 Ford A Class I – Rat Rods 1900 – 1948 – 1st place went to Donnie DeeLowe with a 1974 VW Rat Rod; 2nd place went to Kevin Sam Evans with a 1948 Chevy Pick-up Class J – Street Machines 1949 – 1959 (cars only) – 1st place (two way tie) went to Terry Cavins with a 1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery, and Jim Green with a 1957 Chevy Bel Aire; 2nd place went to Tom Devrieze with a 1953 Chevy Bel Aire; and 3rd place (two way tie) went to Dale Sue Smith with a 1949 Plymouth 2-Door, and Jim Mezo with a 1963 Chevy Nova SIS. Class L – Street Machines 1965-1969 (cars only) – 1st place went to Carl Fields with a 1968 Chevy Camaro; 2nd place (three way tie) went to Terry Murphy with a 1968 Pontiac GTO, Zackery Cobb with a 1969 Chevy SS-RS Camaro, and Clay & Heather Young with a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. Class M – Street Machines 1970-1979 (cars only) – 1st place (two way tie) went to Jimmy Miller with a 1973 Chevy Camaro Z-28, and Dannie Rottler with a 1971 Dodge Dart; 2nd place went to Charlie Davis with a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle. Class N – Street Machines 1980 – Newer (cars only) – 1st place went to scott Faust with a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro SS; 2nd place went to Brandon Koch with a 2003 Ford Mustang GT; and 3rd place (two way tie) went to Chris Caulter with a 1994 Ford Mustang, and Nathan Barnicki with a 1982 Chevy Camaro. Class P – Camaro/Firebirds Stock 1967 – 1982 – 1st place went to Steve Jones with a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28; 2nd place went to Rich & Helen Hamlyn with a 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28; and 3rd place went to Mark Dixon with a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. Class Q – Camaro/Firebirds Stock 1983 & Newer – 1st place went to Dennis & Ashley Rose with a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro; 2nd place went to Mason McHughes with a 1986 Chevrolet Iroc-2 Camaro; and 3rd place went to Norman Ray with a 2001 Chevy Camaro. Class R – Mustangs Stock 1964-1993 – 1st place went to James & Mary Emery with a 1968 Ford Mustang; 2nd place went to Brad Crawford with a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I. Class S – Mustangs Stock 1994-2004 – 1st place went to Chris Reilcy with a 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra; 2nd place went to Phil LaGarce with a 2004 Ford Mustang GT; and 3rd place went to Jeremy Butler with a 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra. Class T – Mustangs Stock 2005-Present – 1st place went to Danny Nelson with a 2007 Ford Mustang; 2nd place (three way tie) went to RL Eggemeyer with a 2008 Ford Mustang, Ed Brown with a 2012 Ford Boss 302, and Amy Stelhorn with a 2007 Ford Roush Mustang. Class U – Trucks & 4-Wheel Drive 1900-1979 Stock (full size) – 1st place went to Harold Miller with a 1938 Ford Pickup; and 2nd place went to WM Ratz with a 1978 Ford Bronco. Class W – Trucks & 4-Wheel Drive 1980 & New Stock (full size) – 1st place went to Becky Davis with a 1994 GMC Sierra; and 2nd place went to Earl Hill with a 1990 Chevrolet Pickup 454 SS. Class X – Trucks & 4-Wheel Drive 1900-1972 Modified (full size) – 1st place went to Bill Kramper with a 1949 Chevy Pickup; 2nd place went to Winford Lemons with a 1972 Chevy El Camino; and 3rd place went to Brad Arnold with a 1953 Chevy Pickup. Class Y – Trucks & 4-Wheel Drive 1973-1979 Modified (full size) – 1st place went to John Clifford with a 1978 Jeep GJS; and 2nd place went to Wayne Thomas with a 1976 Ford Bronco. Class AA – Trucks & 4-Wheel Drive 2000 & Newer Modified (full size) – 1st place went to Gary Brown with a 2006 Chevy Silverado; and 2nd place went to Robert Sprengel with a 2004 Ford F-150. Class BB – Mini Trucks Stock All Years 0-3 Modifications – 1st place went to Josh Ranta with a 1989 Chevy S-10. Class CC – Mini Trucks Modified 4+Modifications – 1st place went to John Gates with a 2008 Chevy HHK; and 2nd place went to Craig Castellano with a 1992 Chevy S-10. Class DD – Corvettes 1953 – 1967 Stock – 1st place went to Gib McMath with a 1966 Chevy Vette; 2nd place went to Rudy Hartmann with a 1965 Chevy Vette; and 3rd place went to Randy Halleran with a 1965 Chevy Corvette. Class EE – Corvettes 1968 – 1982 Stock – 1st place went to Rudy Hartmann with a 1975 Chevrolet Corvette; and 2nd place went to Allen Nesbit with a 1982 Chevrolet Corvette. Class FF – Corvettes 1984 – 2004 Stock – 1st place (two way tie) went to David Busekrus with a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette, and Tony Rukcic with a 2001 Chevy Corvette Coupe; 2nd place (two way tie) went to Jermaine Goodman with a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette, and Pat & Joyce Campbell with a 1991 Chevrolet Corvette. Class GG – Corvettes 2005 – Present – 1st place (two way tie) went to Tony Tranker with a 2005 Chevy Corvette, and Mike Teague with a 2006 Chevy Corvette. Class HH – Sports Cars All Years – 1st place went to Joe Lewis with a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville. Class II – Motorcycles – Custom Bikes – 1st place went to Floyd Ware with a 2004 American Iron Horse Legend; and 2nd place went to Leroy Simon with a Harley Sportster. Class JJ – Motorcycles – Stock Bikes – 1st place went to Kurt Stellhorn with a 2006 HD Softail; and 2nd place went to Max Simon with a 1998 Ducati 750 Monster. Class LL – Sports Compact Stock All Years – 0-5 Modifications – 1st place went to Jordon Riley with a 2013 Kia Optima SX. Class MM – Sports Compact Modified All Years – 6+ Modifications – 1st place went to Andrew Anderson with a 2008 Hyundai Accent; and 2nd place went to Ken Foerster with a 2006 Chrysler Cry-Cross Crossfire. Class NN – Special Interester (All Not Covered) – 1st place went to Denise Daniels with a 1929 Mercedes Benz SSK Replica; 2nd place went to Bill Astle with a 1964 Volkswagon Dune Buggy; and 3rd place (two way tie) went to Dave Holdener with a 1971 Ford E-100 Van, and Steven Kueker with a 2008 Smart 4-2 Passion Cabrio. Class OO – Under Construction All Years – 1st place went to Rich Raab with a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air; 2nd place went to Justin Kempfer with a 2001 Ford Mustang; and 3rd place (three way tie) went to Ryan Havry with a 1985 Ford Mustang GT, James Brock with a 1979 Chevy El Camino, and James Turner with a 1981 Chevy Camaro. Class QQ – Iner Club Modified – All Years – 1st place went to John Cook with a 1956 Chevy 2-Door Bel Aire.
