Elongator acetyltransferase complex subunit 3 (ELP3) is one of six - TopicsExpress

Elongator acetyltransferase complex subunit 3 (ELP3) is one of six components of the Elongator complex. Elongator was initially characterized as a transcription elongation factor. However, it appears to have additional functions and its tRNA modification activity is attracting much attention. As the catalytic constituent of Elongator with both radical SAM and HAT domains, ELP3 is the focus of great interest not only for its enzymatic features but also its apparent link to neuron biology and pathology (i.e., ALS).
