Emily continues to lie flat. The joys of Chicago. I can remember rolling my eyes years ago when Dr. Frim would tell me to make Rylee lie flat and push fluids. Interesting enough the simplest things can have the most profound effects. OK so Em is having a little more intense version of this prescription, but it is definitely helping make her more comfortable. In the meantime, Paula (Rylees favorite nurse practitioner) removed the stitches from the last surgery. Emily has done some art work provided by our favorite art work specialist from child life, Sue. She is a pro at projects for people lying flat. And Emily has been visited from Beth from child life, who she became close to during her spring trips. Tomorrow we will get a peak at just how complicated this stay is going to be. There is a possibility that the holes in Emilys spine have healed and she will be able to sit up. There is also a possibility that she could begin leaking again Dr. Frim may need to perform surgery. Dr. Frim doesnt want to perform surgery because all that Emily has been through recently so it is possible he might return her to flat and try to let her heal on her own for a few days. The best news right now is that she is in the right place with the right team taking care of her.
