Emily was chosen to be one of 8 kids that will perform in front of other students for Musical Share Day today at school. She has been talking about it for the past 2 weeks and I had no clue what she was talking about. Until I got an email from her music teacher last week. The chosen students decide wether they want to sing, play an instrument, dance, etc. Emily chose to dance to Let It Go from Frozen in her ballet shoes, and show the students some of the dance moves shes learned at dance class. We got her a boom box & some CDs (including the Frozen soundtrack) so that she could practice this weekend. If you know Emily, she is not shy at all. I didnt notice her showing any kind of fear or worry over performing until this am when Jon said goodbye before he left for work. Anxiety is setting in and she is concerned because her dance will be made up as she goes. I had her wear a pretty skirt today & put her hair in an Elsa braid (her fave!) to help her feel extra pretty. I told her I loved her, that she will do great and to be CONFIDENT when she walked out the door. She turned around and said, Whats confident Mom? And I pointed to the word tattooed on my forearm and said To be Brave. This is why its there. For situations like this, to inspire my daughters & remind them to always be confident. Please think of Emily today everyone! This day needs to go smoothly for her. Im crossing my fingers that kids are encouraging and nice to her, and not wearing their Asshole pants today!!!
