Eminent researcher James S. Woods published an article in August 2014 on the genetic variants most closely associated with mercury toxicity in children. Boys with certain gene types are most vulnerable at young ages to near term detectable damage from exposure through dental amalgam (silver fillings which are 50% mercury). While not covered in the article, it is evident that damage can occur to girls with genetic susceptibilities as they age, and their mercury levels build up over time. It is shameful that the ADA and FDA continue to ignore this evidence of amalgams proven harm due to proven conflicts of interest. And that politicians and the media duck and defer to highly conflicted experts. researchgate.net/publication/264627760_GENETIC_POLYMORPHISMS_AFFECTING_SUSCEPTIBILITY_TO_MERCURY_NEUROTOXICITY_IN_CHILDREN_SUMMARY_FINDINGS_FROM_THE_CASA_PIA_CHILDREN%27S_AMALGAM_CLINICAL_TRIAL
