Emir of Kano is dead, thoughts are with all Kano indigenes and Nigerian. Ado Bayero became Emir of Kano in 1963. Hes the second most important Muslim leader in Nigerians. The late Emir won a seat in the Northern Regional House of Assembly in 1954. He also joined the Kano Native Police. He had earlier worked as a bank clerk for the British Bank of West Africa before he became an Emir. In January 2013, Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, survived an assassination attempt.
