This is an absolutely physiologic amount. Fructose has proved to be successful in context with diabetes for decades now, precisely because of its almost insulin-independent metabolization. That is also the reason why meal replacement products with fructose, like Juice PLUS+® COMPLETE, do have a low Glycaemic Index (low GI) which induces the intended lipolysis. This is not true for glucose. As Paracelsus already said, only the dose makes the poison. Of course, there are patients like e.g. in America who consume 30 g of fructose and more per day due to the consumption especially of High-Fructose-Corn-Syrup (HFCS) which contributes to fatty degeneration of the liver there.
