Emmanuel Mwamba MILES SAMPAS NEW ECZ DESPARATE ANTICS Lawyer for Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa, Eric Silwamba is attempting to initiate a last ditch effort to stop PF President Edgar Lungu from filing his nominations scheduled for Saturday 20th December 2014. Silwamba is expected to write a letter to the Electoral Commission of Zambia demanding and informing them that they have a court ruling coming up on Monday and would request the Returning Officer Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to wait until the Ruling is made. Now the Ruling coming up on Monday has no consequence as Judge Mungeni Mulenga is only deciding whether to start the case with contempt proceedings or Sampas application for a joinder and either processes will go beyond the nominations calendar. The idea however is to get a response from ECZ and use the response to trigger a court action against ECZ(which in their view will be a new party) as at this stage Miles Sampas legal option against Lungu are exausted. However ECZ already have the High Court Consent Judgment that declares Edgar Lungu as the PF Presidential Candidate. Details coming as we watch the desperate legal antics unfold. Meanwhile PF President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is expected to file his nominations on Saturday but will start by laying wreaths at the grave of President Michael Chilufya Sata at Embassy Park. He will file his nominations and then walk from the Supreme Court to a public rally at Freedom Statute Open Grounds at SDA/Kamwala Mosque on Independence Road
