Emmerdale fans were shocked last week when it was confirmed Sammy Winward had quit the soap after 13 years but the shocks keep on coming because now it’s been revealed that bosses have decided to kill off her character, Katie Addyman. Fans will see Katie marry Andy Sugden over the festive holidays, but their future is looking bleak because the bride will die early next year. When Sammy decided she wanted to leave the soap after 13 years bosses came up with the perfect exit. The shock decision came as a hammerblow to Sammy who was hoping that the door would be kept open for a possible return in the future but now there’s no way back & the actress has to look to the future & other acting projects. An Emmerdale source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Katie’s death is going to be a real tear-jerker. She’s finally found her way back to her childhood sweetheart but their happiness will be short lived.”
