Employment Opportunity: Grocery Clerk Job Description The Grocery Clerk will complete the following tasks: • Primarily responsible to work in the store, assisting customers and overseeing daily operations • Opening and closing tasks and duties • Operate cash register for cash, debit, and credit card transactions • Inventory management including inventory count and keeping track of slow moving product items and expiry dates • Store upkeep such as stocking shelves, rotating stock, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and tidy workspace • Other tasks as required Seeking individuals with the following qualifications: • Experience working in a retail environment • Clean and organized • Self motivated and able to work unsupervised • Excellent verbal and written communication • Proven customer service and teamwork skills • Problem solving skills • Experienced with computer software • Ability to lift 35lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs • Able to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required • Positive and willing to work hard • Experience working in a retail food business an asset • Knowledge of the food system and local food an asset • A love of food, a passion for cooking and quality ingredients, and the ability to learn the stories of our products and their producers and relay them engagingly to our customers - all definitely assets! The primary work site will be: 123 Dunlop St E, Barrie Start Date: As soon as possible The Grocery Clerk will be paid $10.25/hour for 16-40 hours/week.
