Utilizes established general written and oral instructions, policies, standard work procedures and sequence of operations. Incumbent gives considerable attention to scheduling and planning work operations as normally there may be several projects all in progress at the same time. Work activities are subject to occasional spot check during progress or upon completion to determine whether best methods are being used to achieve them. TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional Travel, Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) 5%. RELOCATION AUTHORIZED: No DUTIES: You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor responsible for planning, estimating, expediting and coordinating assigned work including maintenance and repair of diesel and or diesel/electric powered equipment. You will coordinate the movement of floating plant in harbor, docking, and dry-docking, fueling, loading and unloading of vessels; movement of supplies and equipment to various operating activities; organize workers into the most productive kind of working unit within established policies and techniques. Plan the accomplishment of long-range assignments of work within schedules coordinated by higher authority and initiate and authorize administrative actions for the work force directed. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
