Pima Medical Institute (PMI) is partnering with Convergys (located off Prince and I-10) to help them fill 80 positions with their Walgreens Call Center. On-site interviews are currently being scheduled for next Monday December 8,2014. These are full-time positions only. Different shifts are available. Pay starts at $10.25 per hour, with full-time benefits. This type of company is great if you are just getting started in your new career field, or taking the online HCA program. They have a preference for PMI graduates, although this may not be your ideal MA/MAA/RXT/HCA job at this time, this opportunity will benefit you in a few ways: 1. They like to hire MAs, MAAs, RXTs, and HCAs, because you have and will gain experience with pharmacology, medical terminology, basic insurance benefits, and data entry. 2. It is easier for you to find employment in the medical field, if you are already working in the medical field. 3. Some experience is beneficial, if you have minimal employment history. They will hire graduates, with little or no employment history. 4. If you are a Pharmacy Technician, they will pay for your PTCB. 5. Medical Assistants, this opportunity will give you some additional career to pursue as a Pharmacy Technician. The Walgreens Call Center contract includes, working directly with patients to order prescription refills, answering basic questions regarding medications, and medical data entry.
