Empty Pages What happens when inspiration fails? When thoughts go dry, I try and try To find some esoteric thoughts To leap off every page into the hearts Of some who expect more from the words. Nothing comes, words don’t flow But lay below the consciousness Of images that rarely fail to move my pen. I search my dreams, my soul, my heart, Nothing comes again. But words are closing in On thoughts of health and thoughts of age Perhaps calling me and warning My dreams, my soul, my heart Are as empty as the page.
