Encouragement from discouraging thoughts What do we believe - TopicsExpress

Encouragement from discouraging thoughts What do we believe in? Let me effusively define this question as an emotionless thought by making an answering ”I believe in a DOG” and If this question were to be a title of a published book and if G K Chesterton reads it, he will immediately critic the author by asking “who published your book? I believe you do not believe in”. Let me back to my answer, I believe in a DOG. I believe in a DOG in a sense that they were not rebel against their master. I believe that we cannot make a difference between to a DOG and human because I don’t want to think that one day DOG will rebel against human. Free will that we obtain from loving God and that is the reason we are now to trying to answering “Why loving God allows evil’? That question surprised me because I was stunt not the solution itself but by who “answering the question”. I was shocked to their answer when the question is now the answer and the answer is now the question. I believe that the Problem of evil is no more, but point out to the biggest problem is the “Problem of Christianity”? And that is what exactly the problem what I am facing with when I am discussing apologetics to the other believers. Dealing with that kind of question is not so easy because I discovered not only answering but whose answering the question. Yes, we have our own theodicy but I was surprised when my fellow Christian was answered: “Why on earth should any of us think that we can know everything that God knows? And isn’t it supremely arrogant to think that we are capable of assessing situations in the way that a perfectly wise and good person would assess them. This is just to assume that we are able to think like a perfectly good and wise – not to mention all-knowing – person, when clearly we cannot. So we have to accept that we are not in a position to know why God allows or does the things that God does”. I don’t want to think that the problem was on the Christianity itself but I cannot close my eyes dreaming that one day those questions will be answered. I don’t want to think that being rational lead me to absurdity but rather reason lead me to rationality. That was exactly what I am pointing all about, by giving reason we are lost to defend the gospel. I believe that the apologist job is to give a reason for the hope that we are longing for with gentle and meekness (1 Pet 3:15), and is it not to kill the reason that we are hoping that is a very big difference. The real argument is now much more interesting, because the more I dig it deeper the more truth reveal”. Now the question is not anymore “giving hope for the defence of Christianity but rather do we give up our hope for Christianity?” I really do not know what they were pointing about but it seems to me that they were never understand that reasoning must be not yourself but by inspiration of God. And I can argue that the greatest gift of God is love and in order to know that, God gave us capacity to doubt. I believe on what Blaise Pascal when he this statement: “What can be seen on earth indicates neither the total absence, nor the manifest presence of divinity, but the presence of a hidden God. Everything bears this stamp.” That is exactly what Romans 1:18-21 (KJV) says: 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. In other words, what we actually see is evidence of a God who exists but who also wants us to seek him. The evidence that exists is not so overpowering that people don’t even have to think about it, but it is clear enough that those who earnestly and with an open mind seek for God will find him. So what do I believe in? I can truly say that this illogical question would be answer by a DOG but for the logical Christian they will raise the question on “why do I believe in”? and to answer that question is that I am stand to reason to seek Him in truth because that reason lives in me and that is our Lord Jesus Christ.
