End of 1434 A.H and beginning of 1435. Allah has divided time into days , weeks , months and years. Each measure is an opportunity for us to learn , improve our iman, build our relationship with Allah, our creator and prepare for the life hereafter. As we come to the end of one Islamic year, 1434, and the beginning of another 1435, while there are no new year celebrations taught or encouraged in the teachings of the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam , we should take a few moments to reflect upon what we have gained ,or lost or perhaps just missed out upon. We obviously cannot roll the clocks back but can try and analyse ourselves truthfully and realistically. The prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam said, لا يأتي عليكم عامٌ ولا يومٌ إلَّا والذي بعده شرٌّ منْهُ ، حتى تَلْقَوْا ربَّكم There will not come upon you any year or day except the one after it will be more severe in (evil) , until you meet (return to) your Lord. It is not easy to live like a good muslim , it never was and never will be but as they say , When the going gets tough , then the tough get going. We should not despair but turn to Allah and seek his refuge from the difficulties , hardships , problems and all the fitan that surround us for Allah is definitely; -the best of the helpers -the best of the providers -the best of the protectors .
