Enders Game was really good. As one Herb Holland said, good, not great, but I think it was closer to great. Really, I was mainly going for decent Battle School scenes and The Game. Everything else was gravy. The Formic queen was icing on the gravy. Mmmmmm, gravy icing. After a decade or so of HBO/Showtime making solid miniseries out of things, Im at the point where Id rather they *didnt* try to cram one of my favorite books into 90 minutes and instead took their time and did it right. Like, at first I was appalled that they were making 3 movies out of The Hobbit, but looking at it in the light of the miniseries, maybe its the right thing to do. I still havent seen the first one yet, but Im cautiously hopeful. I guess the proof will be in the pudding. Mmmmmmm, gravy icing pudding.
