So this is a bit embarrassing to admit... Kratos is just over a year old and has no idea how to shake paw. Hes pretty lacking in the tricks department as a whole actually, my fault completely. Teach him to laying down properly took nearly two months. I would lure with a treat and he would tuck his front paws really quick and bam! chin smacks the ground. It seemed painful to me although he didnt seem to care but eventually learn hey, when I slide my feet out its less painful! Lol. Any suggestions how to teach him to give paw? I tried asking for his paw, taking it, then praising and treat. Ive tried tapping his leg/paws before taking it and giving a treat. Hes so focused on the treat that I doubt he even knows Im lifting his paw! I tried giving him the treat pretty much next to his paw in my hand. Ive tried each method holding his paw for an extended period, giving it a gentle shake to say hey I have your paw! with praise before giving the treat. Still nothing.
