Englefield run - organised by Tadley Runners and The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey, returns to the Englefield Estate near Theale for the fifth year. The run offers a family day out with a 3.2k course for under-15s and a children’s fun run alongside the 10k event. Last year’s event saw nearly 300 runners raise more than £3,000 for charity, with a portion of the money being donated to the Reading Abbey Rotary Club Trust Fund. This year the main beneficiary is Ufton Court Educational Trust, a West Berkshire charity aiming to inspire and challenge children and young people. Lambourn carnival takes place this afternoon (Sunday) Lambourn has a long tradition of holding a carnival procession on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday Weekend. The streets are closed to traffic and the parade of floats and walking entries winds its way through the village. There will also be a funfair and the carnival procession will wind through the village from 5.30pm. In Stockcross, there will be Rounders on the rec at 2pm. Tickets cost £1 at the venue
