English-Canadian musician Nick Gilder began his career as the frontman for the glam rock band Sweeney Todd and in October 1978, scored a number one solo hit with Hot Child In The City. In the 80s, he wrote songs for a number of artists including Bette Midler, Joe Cocker and Pat Benatar. The band Scandal featuring Patty Smyth had a number one hit in 1984 with The Warrior, which was written by Gilder and Holly Knight. He also landed on a few soundtracks including this song which is featured in the 1986 hockey film Youngblood starring Rob Lowe & Patrick Swayze.
