Engr. Charles Mbanefo Lecture to Address Impact of Flooding All is set for the Nigerian Society of Engi- neers, Abuja Branch to hold the 2013 Engr. Charles Mbanefo distinguished lecture which will deal with the impact of the recent flood- ing on the national economy. Chairman of the Branch, Engr. Emeka Pauli- nus Ozioko, MNSE, dropped the hint last week when he, with the Executive Commit- tee and Members of the branch visited Presi- dent, Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu, FNSE, at the NSE headquarters in Abuja. Ozioko told the President that arrangements have been finalised for the event which will not only proffer solution to the menace of flooding but also show government through engineering ingenuity, the lee way to recover from the economic set back of the devastat- ing flood that rocked the nation last year. He said the theme of the lecture is “The En- vironmental Impact of Flooding in Nigeria: the Engineering Perspective”. He announced that a distinguished Professor of Civil Engi- neering from the Federal University of Tech- nology, Minna, Engr. Prof. Onemayin David Jimoh, will deliver the lecture.
