From my desk this Friday: My text for this lesson is found in Mark 15:13: And they ( Israel); cried crucify him; During a political campaign: a newspaper editorial ran “ We like this candidate because of the enemies he has made.”This is true: Every man who makes a positive stand for right is certainly to make a lot of enemies. In a Christians life; the brightest star in a man’s crown; is the truth that he dared to make enemies. Jesus had a whole nation, that cried crucify him; so he made enemies and he was the best man who ever lived. Now I must teach; we are not to just seek to make enemies; We should have a desire to love and get along with most people. This is commendable; and Biblically sound; but we should not make friends at any cost;there is a peril to ones soul in this seeking. There is always the danger in seeking to please everybody; we will destroy the desire to obey the laws of love and to serve the Lord. Our Christian life has a twofold purpose; (1) to further the Gospel of Truth; and (2) to stand against teachings that are false. It is truth; Men like Paul, Peter, Barnabas, Moses, Joshua,and David, could not have served the Lord and preached the Cross; without having strong convictions, in their hearts, that Jesus is the Lord; and His laws are to be obeyed. A true servant of the Lord; will find all doctrines of man a conflict; and something to dethrone; and a distress to their hearts. We must walk in love and be tolerable with all. But steady in teaching the truth. But being tolerable, does not mean we cease to dethrone that which is lust and false. To be tolerable in all teachings and the false; is not a sign of maturity; but a weakness that one must lay a cross to. If we stand for right we shall make enemies; not friends of the world and it’s lusts. Jesus said: I did not come to send peace on the earth; but a sword. As Long as Satan roams the street; and his children live in the lusts ofthe eye; and of the ; and pride coupled with a great love for evil and the world; and preachers who are wolves in sheep clothing; fleecing the sheep instead of feeding them; there will be a need for fighting saints; with a love for God and Truth. There are forces of evil, with Satan giving birth to it; these we can never compromise. Our nation is in the midst of moral decay; the nation lies in a coffin and nails are being driven into the door. In this midst of a dead nation and world, dead in sin and evil; and a love for it; We must give heed to the writings of Jude; CONTEND FOR THE FAITH; THAT WAS ONCE POSSESSED BY THE SAINTS OF OLD; LET US NOT FEAR, BUT BE STRONG IN THE FAITH AND GOD’S LOVE. AND FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS. SO THAT THE WORLD WILL SAY OF US; AWAY WITH THEM, THEY HAVE BEEN WITH JESUS; LET THEM NOT LIVE AMONG US. BUT WE SHOULD PROCLAIM: WE WOULD RATHER DIE THAN COMPROMISE WHAT WE BELIEVE. Amen and love from Clarence
