Enjoyed reading with Madeleine Thien and Rawi Hage at the Asian Diaspora Night. Was moving for me to read from the Ethos Books edition of Pulse, given that I had first launched this novel in 2010 with Key Porter Books which then went bankrupt the year after. There was a lot of warmth and receptivity at the Saturday night event, which was also the official launch of Asian Canadian studies program at UBC. So graciously included in the great camaraderie with scholars doing work on Singaporean-Malaysian literature during MLA. I felt so heartened and inspired. Yes, I will keep on writing!
