Entering his home for the first time. We reversed the car down the side of the house so that he got straight out and through the side gates and into the back garden. We made a conscious decision not to walk him through the house as we had no idea whether he had been in a house before (it soon became obvious he had, by the way). He will always be taken in and out the property via this back/side gate so that he has no history of going through the front door and getting out on to the road - it is both safety issues, dog management, and leaving strong scent of where the entrance and exit is as far as he is concerned. Note how he glances nervously down the garden which seems too big and fearful on first impression. What dangers may lerk behind a bush or shed? So he keeps near us and the house at first but soon builds up courage to look further down the garden as no other animals appear to defend the property. Lovely shake off of stress towards the end of the clip - shows how much tension and stress he had built up inside and is now trying to shake it off and calm down.
