Entertainment News Downsound Records artiste Ishawna has scored her first major number-one hit with Need Love, which stormed to pole position on an ethnic reggae chart in the UK last week. Perhaps buoyed by the social-media firestorm over her personal life, the song jumped seven places on the Chris Coxson reggae playlist chart in Birmingham, England, at the weekend. I feel great that my fan base in Europe is growing and that the song is doing so well in the UK. It is a great song with crossover appeal, and I just want to thank my management team and my fans for their support, she said. The track, produced by her management label, Downsound Records, has generated a lot of heat since its release. The video, directed by label, CEO Joseph Bogdanovich, under his alter ego Mr B, has racked 150,000 spins on YouTube. The song, recorded on a remake of the instrumental of Mad Cobras monster hit Flex, still enjoys rotation on FM radio in Jamaica. Last week, the song entered at number 20 on the DJ Natty B charts in England and roared to number four on the SFDC Radio Europe Reggae Charts. SFDC Radio, formed six years ago, reaches more than 100 million listeners, globally, with DJs playing from every country and continent. Ishawna has followed up on the successes of Need Love with the singles Restraining Order on Justus Arisons High Life rhythm for JA Productions, and Cry Baby which has racked up 34,000 spins on YouTube in only two weeks. Other standout singles include Wine Yuh Body on the Real Estate rhythm for Good Good Production, and Do It, which features Busy Signal and is produced by Baby G records.
