The Ugandan entrepreneur started his career in business at the age of fifteen by borrowing $5,000 to set up his first IT company. In 2012, Ashish was appointed as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and he was recently listed on the Forbes’ Top 10 Young African Billionaires. His brain child, Mara Mentor is a social enterprise that encourages and supports young entrepreneurs in Africa. Linking start-up African entrepreneurs with successful and established African business leaders for advice and mentor-ship. It is designed to enable entrepreneurs to build their networks and access the guidance that they need at the early stages of their business development. Mara One-on-One aims to support the start-up and growth of young businesses in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria by connecting successful businessmen and businesswomen with passionate entrepreneurs for six months.This initiative is designed to help young enterprises survive the cut-throat world of business by creating alliances with strong players who have already succeeded in running successful companies.
