Enugu Rangers secured one of the biggest away wins of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season with a 3-0 win at Crown FC on Sunday. The Flying Antelopes were rampant from the start and it took them only five minutes to open scoring at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan. Rangers defender Etim Matthew benefited from a poor clearance by Crown FC to fire past Michael Uweru in goal for the Ogbomoso club. John Obuhs men did not let up, as they continued to press Crown FC high up the pitch and it paid off when Chinedu Udeagha fired in the second from quite a difficult angle to make it 2-0 for Rangers. Ten minutes later, Samuel Agba finished off into an empty Crown FC net a sweeping team move to make it three-nil to Rangers with Odah Onoriode providing the assist. Rangers are now in eighth place on 51 points, and surprisingly five points behind league leaders Kano Pillars. Kano Pillars failed to open their lead further on the chasing pack as they lost 0-1 at Nasarawa United. Seun Sogbeso scored the winning goal from the spot kick. The win puts Nasarawa United in fourth place on 53 points. Six-time champions Enyimba put life back into their ambition to win a record seventh title. They won 1-0 at Kaduna United with Kingsley Sokari coming off the bench to score the winner in what represented their first away win of the season. Nembe City now look all but relegated after going down three-nil at El-Kanemi Warriors. Ifeanyi Matthew, Malik Demba and Sunday Adetunji got the goals for El-Kanemi. A brace of goals by former Nigeria under-20 star Bernard Okorowanta and another good finish from Ebitimi Agogu helped Bayelsa United to a 3-0 win over FC Taraba. But Bayelsa United remain in the bottom-four, just a position behind FC Taraba in 16th position. Second-placed Warri Wolves could not topple Kano Pillars at the top of the pile as they lost 0-1 at Heartland in a tense game. Emeka Ogbugh scored the winner in a match that witnessed Heartlands head coach, Kelechi Emeteole, and his Wolves counterpart, Paul Aigbogun, having a go at each other but for the intervention of match officials. Dolphins title charge also took a hit in Uyo where they lost to Akwa United. Dolphins took the lead through Emem Eduok in the 22nd minute but two goals from Kufre Ebong and Nnamso Edo helped Akwa United to a 2-1 win. Lobi Stars continued to show home strength as they raced into a two-goal lead through UChe Ihuarulams double against Abia Warriors. Bishop Onyeudo netted late on for Abia Warriors whose attempt to fight back did not happen. Newcomers Giwa FC stunned one of the experienced sides in the premier division, Gombe United, by pulling off a favourable result. Gombe United took the lead in front of their fans through Austin Ekpomas 12th minute penalty but Shuaibu Ibrahim levelled the scores for Giwa FC before the break to share the points. But the individual performance of the match day goes to Christian Pyagbara of Sharks. He netted all four goals in his teams 4-1 win over Sunshine Stars. Dele Olorundare scored for Sunshine Stars.
