Epiphany Season Wednesday 14th January 2015 We have the mind of Christ - 1 Corinthians 2:16 What it meant then? Paul claims that we have the mind of Christ is an astonishing and shocking one. How is that possible for earthlings to know what is divine? It certainly could be achieved by human intellect. Rather, the sole way is the pathway of the cross which means dying to ones entire reliance on ones intelligence and cleverness. To possess the divine mind is to embrace the divine intention. That divine intention is seen in Jesus Christ bearing the foolishness of the cross to bring to naught the confidence of humanity. What it means now? In a secularizing world, God is only but one option amongst many. We would consider praying as the last resort when nothing very much helped. The death of cross would never have been perceived to be the way of salvation and it is that improbability that appear foolishness to humankind and it in that weaknesses that Gods power is clearly seen. What is in it for me? We should not conceal or be embarrassed about our limitations. Be spontaneous that we cant do all things. However, what we want to do but cannot do is when God can do by his power. Wont we pray for that power when as always we are limited?
