So thank you facebook. You, being all the friends I have on here have been part of my curious social experiment. As today comes to a close I look back on my very boring 24th birthday. Happy and yet sad. Happy because I did not have thousands of facebook happy birthday posts from people I barely even knew still existed. However, I am sad because still out of the very many facebook friends the ones that even bother to say happy birthday took that time like a digital card to say so, and for that I am pleased. So, sad because I did not get that from those people this year. The social experiment, I hid my birthday from facebook at the end of my birthday the previous year to see how many people actually remember ones birthday. I have come to find the number is incredibly low. Oh, gone are days when people memorized friends phone numbers and birthdays. I am sad because almost all of my relatively close friends I can recall their birthday. A few I even have their numbers stuck in my head. And with that I bid all a good day and a good night. While my birthday was boring, unknown, and calm; it was nice in its own way indeed. Another year older, another year wiser.
