FOR SHABBAT- A PRAYER FOR CARING AND FAIRNESS FOR ALL This poem and the song that is brought here are an example of the development of prayers in the renaissance communities in Israel. The words were written by Bertold Brecht for the Caucasian Chalk Circle. Nathan Zach the poet translated it and Shlomo Gronich set it to music. Later on Nigun Halev (https://facebook/nigunhalev) community made it part of its Kabbalat Shabbat, at the point of the service when the Aleynu prayer describes an ideal world to come. We thought it is also a good TuBishvat reminder of the .importance of caring for the earth. While the content might seem a bit outdated to our world, the longing for a better and fairer world for all humans; a world in which people care for each other and the earth is certainly not. Shabbat shalom יהי הכל / ברטולט ברכט, (תרגום לעברית: נתן זך) יְהִי הַכֹּל שַׁיָּךְ לְכֹל שֶׁיּוּכַל לְהֵיטִיב עִמּוֹ הַיֶּלֶד לָאִשָּׁה הָאִמָּהִית - לְמַעַן יִגְדַּל; הָעֲגָלָה לָעֶגְלוֹן הַטּוֹב - לְמַעַן יִנְהַג בָּהּ הֵיטֵב; וְהָאֲדָמָה לַמַּשְׁקִים אוֹתָהּ מַיִם - לְמַעַן תִּתֵּן פִּרְיָהּ בעיתו https://youtube/watch?v=ZD2SVdvfT-U MAY EVERYTHING BELONG TO ALL, TO THOSE WHO CARE FOR IT: CHILDREN TO THE MOTHERLY WOMAN SO THAT THE CHILDREN MAY THRIVE. HORSES TO GOOD HORSEMEN SO THAT THE HORSES THRIVE AND THE EARTH TO THOSE WHO WATER IT SO THAT THE EARTH MAY THRIVE AND YELD FRUIT AT ITS TIME. This version of the song is even more poignant as it is sung by children and reaches out to all by including sing language.
