Episode #1: It was formulaic. Pose a tough mayor with HIS view of the city, a tough chief of police with HIS view of the city, and a lot of SAD AND TROUBLED AND VIOLENT BLACK PEOPLE AND VICTIMS! Lawdy, lawdy, saints alive! Can you guess who will save us from ourselves? The mayor is always seen as calm, sitting, smiling, speaking quietly, looking pensive. Everyone else is either seen at a rally, or running, or walking. They shout, chant, speechify, and in various styles give voice to outrage. So, what does one expect at a rally but people gathered in order to shout (because that is needed) and speak truth to power with strength in their voices and spirits! The notion that the mayor is a fixer was a constant. However, none of our issues, what needs fixing and why or how, were explained. Well, the first show in any series is an apéritif meant to tease and stimulate the appetite for more. Ugh! I want skip this meal, but we must watch it if only to help raise up the truth in the wake of lies.
