Ere we go guys listen to this ...... ive been driving now for 29 yrs approx, and in all that time i have never had any of my cars RE m.o.td by a different garage when they have failed with a list of things. My wifes was due an m.o.t this week, instead of going to the usual garage, our local, i said lets try a different garage, the price of the m.o.t was cheaper aswell by £15 . lloyds m.o.t test centre tunstall failed jills car and said it would need £310 spending without tyres (i got the proof) saying there was a few weeks lleft on the tyres as they are close in my opinion. so, i tells jill go back to our local garage and pay the £40 and get it re m.o.td just to see. i have never done this before, jill said i was wasting money and rightly so, but i just had my doubts. if i lost £40 so what, i just wanted see two m.o.ts from two garages...... the results..... Pitshill garage (our local) failed jills car with £190 worth of work, and that includes £90 tyres, and m.o.t . so a saving of nearly £200 overall. And theres me thinking all mechanics are suppoised to be singing from the same hymn book ? Moral of the story, friggin lesson learned, i will now have two m..o.ts everytime theres a big bill lol, Cheap m..o.t tests arent always the right thing to do, what an eye opener.
