Essien Thompson is here again Breaking News!!! Is Godswill Akpabio preparing to Escape from Nigeria? Reliable sources in Uyo have confirmed that Godswill Akpabio is leaving Uyo on September 17, 2013, to the island of St. Crete & Mary in the Caribbean. According to the sources, Akpabio is departing Uyo with two aircrafts loaded with money and other personal items. Even though the sources are sure of where Akpabio is heading to, what they are not certain is why Akpabio has decided to leave Nigeria with two loaded aircrafts on the eve of Appeal Courts’ decision on a case against him by Chief Frank Okon, which is coming up on September 18, 2013. It has been confirmed that the two aircrafts will leave Uyo for a direct flight to the Island. What this means is that they (aircrafts) will not have to undergo the usual custom and immigration clearance before leaving Nigeria. It would be important to know that in the Caribbean Island where Akpabio is flying to, all it takes for a foreigner to become a naturalized citizen is an investment of a minimum of US$ 100,000.00; an amount which Akpabio can easily afford. Two un-confirmed sources have stated that another reason Akpabio is flying to the island is to look at the possibility of building an oil refinery there. But whatever the reason, or reasons, for his travel, it becomes suspicious that Godswill Akpabio is leaving the country on the eve of an important court decision involving him regarding the outcome of the 2011 gubernatorial election. The case of Frank Okon vs. Godswill Akpabio was originally scheduled for a hearing on October 23, 2013. But a couple of weeks ago, both sides received notices from the court that the matter has been moved back for a hearing on September 18, 2013. And Akpabio is leaving the country on September 17, 2013---a day before the hearing. Could it be possible that Akpabio is leaving Nigeria for an escape to the Caribbean after receiving an advanced notice that the outcome of the court case will not be in his favor? For now, it’s is only a speculation. But let’s wait.
