@EstherMcVeyMP has wrong #attitude to the countrys #poor, #ill and #vulnerable - @UKParliament #politics of the #toilet In the last week she has been defending the #BedroomTax, which is now officially a failure in every #respect. “It was never all about saving money,” she said on radio this week. So, one assumes, it was all about the misery. McVey treats the power she yields with the same emotional investment she displayed on the GMTV sofa. At the despatch box, she is more battering ram than orator, preaching her mantras from the jammed autocue in her head. With the voice of a braying donkey, she wears the opposition down by making them cover their ears to avert her unbearable whine. At least Margaret Thatcher did us the service of voice training. The woman doesn’t have much respect for #Scotland either, referring to Cathy Jamieson as the “honourable member for Kilmarnock and Loo-down”, she meant Loudoun. Read her Twitter feed at your peril and have Gaviscon at hand. Faux sunny platitudes include, “Beautiful morning out in Irby and Hoylake,” which must mean she’s not there. This week she declared Britain as “the place to be for the opportunity to get a job, work your way up and achieve your dreams”. Old #Etonians couldn’t agree more. Her advice on Monday to a young man, one of the millions with no prospects of finding a #job, was to “stick with it” and “get there in the end”, by which we assume she means the #DoleQueue. And don’t let that Liverpudlian twang fool you. McVey is public school privileged.
