Ethical dilemma: In 2007, I purchased a used, I mean certified pre-owned vehicle from a dealer. I was satisfied with the deal, even though I got suckered into buying the Lojack. There were a couple of defects that didnt reveal themselves until a short time later, but there was no warranty coverage. Its possible the dealer had no knowledge of them. Thats life. Its been a good truck and has kept us safe on the roads. If planning to trade back to the same dealer, do I have any obligation to say heres what I know is wrong? What if Im trading it to a different dealer? If I elect to make a private sale, I would inform any prospective buyer of the known issues. So, does a dealer deserve the same consideration?
